modern ROMANCE winter wedding at the foundry - E + d
After meeting in college and 9 years of dating, Daniel proposed in front of Erica’s dorm in a nod to where it all started. Shortly thereafter they decided on the Foundry and finding us on the preferred vendor list got in touch to help plan their wedding. We worked with Erica & Daniel (and Mom Debbie) for over a year to guide them through the process and bringing the whole day to life. They were looking for a sophisticated celebration that felt intimate, inviting, romantic and most of all fun! We helped narrow down a modern, intimate celebration that was a reflection of them as a couple and the elements that were important to them. As we have worked at the Foundry countless times we were excited to bring this vision to life. We teamed up with some of our favorite vendors in NY to achieve this. We worked with Ettie Kim to realize a modern take on a traditional invitation suite which included a custom Foundry illustration and day-of paper goods (menus etc) for consistent design through out the event. We also paired up with FLWR Studio who helped bring the floral vision to life of modern, textured, loose florals that felt romantic and appropriate for fall without going down the traditional fall color wheel of oranges and reds. The vision for the tent was for a winter snowglobe with constellation string lighting from ULS, paired with Velvet linens and ghost chairs to again envoke a modern yet inviting and approachable atmosphere. Following dinner, dancing began with Cafe Wha getting guests on their feet. Nine Cakes provided a stunning cake which featured lifelike sugar flowers and was topped with a 3D cake topper of the couple. This was surrounded by family cake cutting photos and Erica & Daniel used the same cake knife as Erica’s parents and grandparents before them (as seen in the photos) to continue a family tradition. Helping to bring your personalities and stories out through personalized and thoughtful planning is truly important to us, as this ensures no two weddings are alike!
