BERKSHIRES multicultural indian-korean TWO DAY WEDDING CELEBRATION - m+r
Our couple Megan & Rajal had a unique two day wedding celebration in the Berkshires over Memorial day weekend, featuring 3 ceremonies (Korean, Hindu & Secular), a Baarat horse processional, 4 outfit changes and the bride also lopped off her long hair in favor of a stylish bob before the black tie reception. The bride is of Korean decent and the groom is of Indian heritage and they wanted to incorporate both cultures into their wedding day at Gedney farm while making the day feel modern and elegant with an emphasis of not feeling rustic. The bride is also a graphic designer who designed the save the date, invitation, wedding day signage, menus and even hand calligraphed place tiles for all her guests.
Day 1 began with an outdoor Korean Paebeak Tea Ceremony where guests were greeted with some traditional Korean and Indian treats and tea. The couple were clad in traditional attire and Mother of the Bride in a customary Hanbok taking part in Korean games. Ceremony was followed by a Sangeet Rehearsal Dinner where the Groom changed into Indian attire with loafers that recalled the design of the bride's floral motif on her traditional Hanbok (outfit #2). The Sangeet featured family performances and a henna station for guests to enjoy.
Day 2 featured the groom's Baraat horse processional up to the ceremony location on the property for a traditional Hindu Ceremony. The Hindu ceremony was followed by a secular ceremony officiated by a close friend of the bride. The couple were then whisked away post Vidai on a kitsch golf cart. While guests then made their way back down to the main Barn for the cocktail hour the bride changed into her final outfit following a dramatic haircut for a final reveal to guests during the black tie reception.
