USA-AUS Modern Luxe Bowery Hotel SOIREE - a + j
Anna + Joey met at work and after 4 years of dating decided to celebrate their international union in style at the Bowery Hotel. With Anna originally hailing from Australia, it was important to them to welcome her Australian family and friends to New York (some for the first time) for one hell of a party. With Tall & Small having an insight into Australian tastes (including the cultural spelling differences such as mum vs mom) we were a good fit to help them bring their day to life.
It was also great to once again work with some of our favorite vendors including FLWR Studio (another Australian who calls NY Home) who helped bring the floral vision to life with modern, loose florals and beautiful textured taper candles that felt romantic and worked well paired with the Bowery Hotel interiors and specialty table top rentals. Michael from Chellise Michael Photography once again captured the energy of the night perfectly. Following heartfelt speeches at dinner, Brian Kirk and the Jirks opened with ‘Party in the USA’ as the couple were introduced and the classic ‘I come from a land down under’ (a nod to the Aussies in the room) that got the crowd to their feet. Nine Cakes provided a memorable cake for cutting which was then served with an Australian snack bar including classics such as Caramello Koalas and Shapes (for the Americans in the room to experience). The epic dance party concluded with a conga line followed by an afterparty that kicked on till the early hours.
For Anna & Joey as with all our couples it is a real pleasure to be involved in such a special day and help our couples relax and be fully present on their wedding day!
